Genealogy Resources for Veracruz
Last Names of Nuevo Leon

These are the Genealogy Resources for Veracruz, Mexico that I have come across. I hope that they can be of help to you in your genealogy research.

Veracruz colonial history begins with it’s founding in 1519 by Hernan Cortez. From here Cortez launched his conquest of Mexico. In the first half of the 17th century, cities such as Córdoba, Orizaba, and Xalapa were formed or expanded to protect the trade route between Mexico City and the port of Veracruz. Since by that time Veracruz had a monopoly on the whole coast. Veracruz was also the main arrival location for European and also African slaves.

From what I have been able to find you can expect to find records going all the way back up until 1590.
