Last Names of Nuevo Leon

They key to getting really good at genealogy research is to grow your genealogy skills and genealogy toolbox.

What are genealogy skills?

It is the knowledge of how to do research and or use techniques learned from others when conducting your own research. Examples are how to use indexes, properly analyze a document, evaluate sources, how to conduct research at an archive and so on.

What is a genealogy toolbox?

A genealogy tool box is just a term to describe your knowledge of available genealogical resources and how to use them. Either to research, preserve, archive, and or share your genealogy with others. This includes software, websites, archives, publications and so on.

The Best Way to Grow Both Your Skills and Genealogy Toolbox

From experience the best way is to attend Genealogy Conferences. You get to learn from may experts in a very short period of time, but the problem is that not everyone can afford to attend one. In person conferences can cost up to one thousand dollar's or more to attend due to travel, lodging, and the cost of meals. You may also have small children running around the house and can't be away from them. Or you my have health issues that prevent you from attending an in person conference but, I have great news for you!

The We Are Cousins Virtual Genealogy Conference

With our conference you will learn from 23 experts that focus on genealogy methodology so you can enhance or get new methods and skills for your research. Many will share resources and or archives that you can add to your genealogical toolbox. You can view the schedule and description of presentations here: View Schedule
